My Pure Barre Birthday!

26 was my healthiest and happiest year. I have been eating better, working out and choosing to make my health a priority. I knew that I wanted to celebrate my birthday in a healthy way… before going out to brunch… I reached out to several studios in Los Angeles and inquired about options for a private party. From the beginning, Pure Barre Beverly Hills was amazing with communication and willingness to work with me and what I wanted to do. I worked with Jessica through email and by phone leading up to my event and she made sure everything ran smoothly.

When I walked in to the studio, there was a Happy Birthday sign, decorations and mimosas ready for our group! Everyone signed a waiver and got ready for class; all while drinking mimosas.

Our instructor, Alex was amazing- she made my group feel so comfortable; especially the guys. Most of the women in the group have done a barre class or something similar but the guys were a little out of their element with those isometric movements. They got the hang of it with a lot of laughs. The ladies were all very pleased to see the guys sweating and asking for water during one of our “easy” barre work outs.

Alex went through all the traditional movements and made sure everyone was safe in their positions but she was great about reading the class and realizing that we were there in our tight and bright outfit to get a good work out and to have fun together.

We started with our props- a double tube, ball and weights and quickly got in to the warm up. We moved through each muscle group including arms, legs, seat and abs and finally finished with a stretch. The idea of Pure Barre is small, isometric movements to tone each muscle group and the more shaking, the better! I think I can safely say that everyone felt the shake.

If you are looking for something different to do for a party or celebration and have a group who would enjoy a good work out, I highly recommend Pure Barre! Doing a class with friends and dressed for a theme was so motivating and I definitely pushed myself more than I sometimes do in a regular class.

We ended class with a mimosa and then relocated the party to brunch… just to balance it out.
